Black Shark Official Global Black Shark 4 Pro Gaming Phone

The gaming phone was first announced in March 2021 and was, at that time, only available in China. Consequently, there are aspects of the phone that have a distinctive 2021 feel to them, but other parts of the phone are enticing enough to attract some users. The OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) is best for slow panning or tilting movements—anything too fast and it came off as very digital. 4K recording is limited to the main camera only;  switching to the ultra-wide lens brings the resolution down to 1080p. Introduced with last year‘s model, the magnetic pop-up triggers make their return with the Shark 4. The two top sliders reveal a left and right trigger button which can be custom mapped, via their Shark Center app, to any two A and B points on the screen.

  • The Qualcomm Driver is compatible with all the Flash Tool, and the ADB Driver can be useful for establishing a connection between the mobile and the computer.
  • Specifications also include Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, 144Hz display and superfast 120W charging speed.
  • The main shooter is a 48MP f/1.8, while the other two rear cameras are an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro.
  • Everything we did on the phone, from loading up menus to switching between apps, was fluid and smooth.
  • It’s also where you can customise the magnetic triggers and any other Black Shark accessories you might have, so it’s something that users will find themselves using fairly often.

The better the CPU, the more efficient the device will be in terms of battery consumption, because the best CPU is smarter and more advanced in handling system logic. The Black Shark 4 Pro has triple rear AI cameras, a 64MP f/1.8 primary camera paired with a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle shooter of 8MP, and a dedicated 5MP depth of field sensor. The front camera is a 20MP sensor with an f/2.2 sensor covered with a 5P lens. The camera can record in 4K at 60/30fps, record slow-motion videos in 720p at 1920fps, 720p at 480fps and in 1080p at 240fps.

Red Magic 6 series starts at £509/US$599, while you’ll pay at least £799 (approx. US$1,100) for the Asus ROG Phone 5. There are also a few software tweaks on both phones, as we’ve come to expect from gaming handsets. The most notable is Xiaomi’s ‘Shark Space’, an area of the phone where notifications can be silenced and performance boosted. On-screen demos suggest it’ll offer more than just a list of compatible games, with potentially an AI voice assistant guiding you through. Both the Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro have 8Mp wide-angle and 5Mp Stock Firmware macro cameras on the back, but that’s about where the similarities end. The regular phone has a 48Mp main sensor, while the Pro model bumps this up to 64Mp.

Your thumbs can focus on movement and aiming while your index fingers can handle shooting. Unlike with modern iPhones which have a 120Hz sampling rate, the slightest movements across the screen register more accurately. Higher sampling rates, as with the Black Shark, let the phone register your taps, flicks, and movements more quickly and frequently.

The Black Shark 4 Pro runs on Android 11 and all this is powered by a 4500 mAh battery. It measures 163.8 x 76.4 x 9.9 mm (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 220 grams including battery. The Xiaomi Black Shark 4 comes with Android OS v11.0 out of the box, and a Li-Po 4500 mAh, non-removable battery. The 6.67 inches phone comes with a high resolution AMOLED display (1080 x 2400 px). We also have an 8MP ultra-wide lens which is an IMX355 sensor, it never disappoints us and we managed to take some good pictures. The camera performs in low light conditions rather well and there is a night shooting mode but it depends on the software so we don’t recommend relying on it too much . There is a 5MP macro sensor which can take 3cm close-up photos of relatively average quality.
